:: Double Birthday Bash ::
"Nak?" Miss Popozao with her brows raised cheekily. "For yer birthday." Hmm…two backstage passes to go and meet with the celebrities at the Hitz.Fm birthday bash, sure, why not >:)
"Okay." The hotlink bloke who had been promoting to us those passes was elated, another successful sale, 2 Rm 30 hotlink reload cards, for Miss Popozao of course, plus, added bonuses, a free gift bag complete with a giant hitz.fm-hotlink cardboard ‘hand’, and best of all, backstage passes for the concert. My first outdoor concert ever >:} hopefully my parents won’t be calling me tonight…
A fine day, a scorching hot day as usual. The crowd at Mahkota Parade (the dataran outside) was abundant, teenagers, children, and parents looking for lost child, makcik2 and pakcik2, and some foreigners with nowhere else to go, yep, and I was getting a little out of breath, with all these enthusiastic people wheezing around us. Miss Popozao was ecstatic to find her favourite hitz.fm deejay, Jason Lo among the throngs of people, and beckoned at me to take their pictures together. (Well, I know I’m yer favourite camerawoman Miss Popo:)
"Manhunting manhunting!" Miss Popozao chanted while we delve further into the crowd, and behold, the two rascals of hitz.fm morning crew, Rudy and Jayjay(betul ke idak eja) was there right in front of us, entertaining a group of rowdy-looking blokes.
Miss Popozao let out a guffaw then handed me the camera. Pose, good, one more, cute. "Ok, thank you very much." I liked them actually, they were friendly and look like two clowns together. Speaking of clowns, uh oh, there’s one right there, handing animal baloons to kids.
"Aa…clown, lari lari…" "I hate clown!(suara kecik)" Miss Popozao pulled me away from them, neither of us are fond of clowns, hehe. The clown was stilt-walking.(Reminded me of the clown in Billy Madison) I tried to point this out to my dear friend Miss Popo but the chatter around us was too deafening.
After a few more rounds of photo-sesions with Serena C, Adam 8TV, and two female deeajays I don’t recognize, we went back inside to the cooling comfort of the air-conds. Fuu…panathss panathss…
Assolatun magrib, then off to the concert we went. I left Miss Popozao by herself for a while for a short visit to Thai Kuang(XL), then when I came back she was already backstage, mingling with the celebrities. I left for 25 minutes and she had already become friends with serena c, hehe…And had a chat with Ferhad. I let her take a picture of me with Serena c before the guards shooed us out. (indignant we were, yess, precious…we were)
That’s alright, the show had started, and the opening act was —-Pop Shuvvit! Wah, Lagu2 rawk yg bisa menggegarkan jantungku. I wasn’t familiar with their songs, but I liked their rawness(I especially like the part when the lead vocalist sang into a hailer, i don’t know why…)
Up next, Ferhad! "Sunshine or rain, whatcha gonna do when u need… say!" He belted out while we sang along to the song.
After Ferhad got off the stage, everyone was restless. The deejays went onstage and started to give away freebies(by frisbee-ing them) to the audiences. Meanwhile I and Miss Popozao was being ‘harassed’ by a group of very enthusiastic girls (with very bad breath…) One girl kept pushing me aside to get a clearer view so Miss Popozao finally pulled me to the front thus blocking their view a little.
And then, to our very pleasant surprise, the next act came onstage. We were dumbfounded, because they were The Moffats! The crowd of course went crazy, and we both cheered and enjoyed ourselves, as the two brothers performed, I felt the nervousness flowed away. It was down memory lane as they gave us a rendition of "I miss you like crazy" and "Girl of my dreams". I was practically beaming by the time they sang "I miss u like crazy". It sounded even better live. Lastly, after closing their act with "Supermodel", I gave Miss Popozao a knowing look and she nudged me towards the backstage area. We managed to get a glimpse of the two very cute Moffats brothers before they were rushed to their tent by the guards.
Well, at least we got a good look at them, right miss Popo
Oh, and not forgetting, the Video of Dont Cha (starring Rudy n Jayjay). Hillarious and very idiotic, but of course, anything starring those two is bound to be idiotic…it featured the two err..macho heroes being stalked by two scary-looking ‘female’ fans(actually it was just Rudy n Jayjay in ugly-looking wigs:)) The lyrics were like so:
Machaa, lets go…
Dont cha wish ur boyfriend was hot like me,
Dont cha wish ur boyfriend eat more like me,
Dont Cha!!!
Dont cha wish ur boyfriend was Rraw like me,
Dont cha wish ur boyfriend make more money,
Dont Cha!!
Terrorized by the image of Rudy’s wobbly belly, they should Not have shown that on video, tst3, he insisted it was due to special effects though.
Thank you very much for the passes Miss Popozao, you know who you are d^c^b
